Finding Where Templates Are Stored
It is unfortunate that Microsoft does non make information technology easier to alter templates. The first footstep in modifying templates is to load one, and that ways you need to know where they are stored on disk. Regrettably, the boilerplate user hasn't a inkling where they are stored on disk. The problem is that fifty-fifty Discussion Help cannot say exactly where the templates binder is on any particular reckoner.
If you desire to know where your templates are stored, follow these steps:
- Display the Word Options dialog box. (In Give-and-take 2007 click the Part push button then click Discussion Options. In Word 2010 and afterward versions display the File tab of the ribbon so click Options.)
- Click Avant-garde at the left side of the dialog box.
- Scroll to the bottom of the available options and click the File Locations button. Give-and-take displays the File Locations dialog box. (See Figure 1.)
- In the File Types list, cull User Templates. If the path for the templates is brusque plenty, you lot may be able to run across information technology in the dialog box right now. If then, you can skip steps 5 and 6.
- Click the Modify button (even though y'all won't exist modifying anything.). Word displays the Modify Location dialog box.

If yous suspect this is the example with your version of Word, but get out of the program and apply Windows' search capabilities to expect for "normal.exercise*" (without the quote marks). Notation the use of the wildcard asterisk at the end of what you are searching for; this should help you find any template (or even certificate) that starts with "normal."
